“TERTIARY EDUCATION”

PROPOSAL

Introduction

The importance of tertiary education system is increasing due to the progress and development of the society. A good tertiary education system determines the level of civilization, society and knowledge of a particular country. For the past few years, tertiary education has become more and more common in Malaysia with the increasing of the courses offered as well as the more of the tertiary education institutions were establish. Meanwhile, we can see a great increase in the percentage of students enroll into colleges and universities. It has no doubt that Malaysia tertiary education system is getting better for the past few years. However, there are still a lot of room to improve for Malaysia education system as there are a lot of critics and suggestions from different parties. The objective of us setting up this website is to let the public especially pre graduates from different colleges and universities to voice out their views. Complains and critics towards a particular institution will be reviewed as well as solutions and suggestions for improvement. We have no mean to sabotage any of the colleges or universities but just for the sake of a better and perfect tertiary education system for our future generations.

Objective

To promote tertiary education and let the public know the importance of tertiary education

Ways to attempt

In our website we will have the following contents as shown below:

1. Introduction – show a brief introduction of what is tertiary education
2. The importance of tertiary education – Show the importance of tertiary education and support it with data e.g. the amount of graduated citizens in developed nations and developing nations
3. List of universities and colleges – this will shows most of the universities and colleges in Malaysia. Google Map will be used to show the exact location of the university/college. In addition, Youtube will be used to show how does the university/college look like and lastly, Flickr or Photobucket will be used to show photos from different universities/colleges.
4. Courses Offered - shows all the courses listed in the all universities/colleges. Furthermore, it will shows the details of each course, e.g. what is the course about, which university/college offered this course, the future of studying this course, the course structure etc.

5. Forum - A forum will be implemented to allow users to discuss about different topics. E.g. we will set up a few discussion room for users like “university/colleges”, “courses” etc. In these rooms, users are able to post threads and reply others. This will help them to understand more about the university/college and the courses that they are interested.
6. Government and private aid / loan – let the public knows that they are various loans and scholarships available for tertiary education. E.g. PTPTN loan, company loan, government scholarship etc).

Business Opportunity

As the website is getting popular, universities and colleges will advertise in our website. In fact, many others companies will be very interested in advertising here too.

Conclusion

In a nutshell, we will have a overview of most of the colleges in Malaysia. The different policies implemented by different institution might be integrated to create a much more perfect education system,. With the aids of the public, we can have a more transparent view of the tertiary education system in Malaysia and thus leads to a better understanding of our education system
